Iowa Writers' House Announced as a
2017 Iowa Arts Council Art Project Grant Awardee
ANNOUNCING...THE BI-CULTURAL IOWA WRITERS' FELLOWSHIP
We're proud to announce that the Iowa Writers' House has been awarded with an Art Project Grant from Iowa Arts Council, a division of Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
Our project, the Bi-Cultural Iowa Writers' Fellowship, will provide the first in its kind opportunity for bi-cultural emerging writers in Iowa. Our primary goals for this project are to provide a platform to elevate the diverse talent and perspectives in Iowa, and to support aspiring writers with the infrastructure they need to produce work that positively impacts the vitality of arts and culture in Iowa.
Fellows will have the opportunity to come to the City of Literature for three different weekend residencies designed to introduce them to Iowa's literary resources and to support their creation of work that explores themes of "Migration", "Home", and Belonging."
Applications will open in late September 2017 and the fellowships will be awarded in November.
